Prism Design Studio, in collaboration with Crafton Tull, Grace Design Studio, and Councilman-Hunsaker, developed the conceptual site design for the City of Fayetteville's new aquatic recreation center. Guided by data collected through a feasibility study and community input sessions, the team designed a recreation center integrated into an existing park setting could provide long-term recreational and community benefits.
The site presented several opportunities for thoughtful integration with the surrounding area. The conceptual design emphasized walkability to and from nearby neighborhoods, improved trail connectivity and direct access, opportunities for enhanced stormwater and drainage mitigation, and a layout that supports the center as an accessible community gathering space. By re-envisioning the entire park rather than treating the center as a standalone addition, the master plan achieves a cohesive and comprehensive outcome.
The project was approved as part of the City of Fayetteville's Spring 2026 bond issue, reflecting community support for expanded aquatic and recreation opportunities. Prism Design Studio looks forward to continuing work on the project as design development progresses.
Final design elements, amenities, and project scope remain subject to ongoing design development, engineering, budgeting, and City approval processes.
