Our team was hired by the City of Fort Smith to design an inclusive playground on the site of an existing playground adjacent to the Park & Recreation offices. The inclusive playground design incorporated the existing slope into the play area as a feature, along with bridging to landings onto the large play structure. Full inclusion was a goal of the Parks Department to allow all kids, regardless of ability, to play together side by side, which builds community through learning and compassion.

Landscape Structures, Inc. was selected to provide the play amenities, which included a Sway-Fun Glider, Oodle Swing, A We-Go-Round, Euroflex half balls, a multi-activity climber, and outdoor musical instruments to stimulate all kids by creating sounds and tones that encourage collaboration and interaction.
