In March 2024, Searcy voters approved a $110 million bond initiative to fund transformative projects, including a state-of-the-art sports park, a new community center, and an expanded aquatics center. The first of these improvements was renovating the existing sports complex.

Our team provided planning and landscape architecture services for improvements to the Searcy Sports Complex include new fencing, dugouts, and drainage enhancements across 15 fields, along with a new softball batting cage, scorekeeper stands, and bleachers. Future plans include additional fields with artificial turf infields and upgrades to the adjacent soccer complex. These enhancements are part of a broader portfolio of more than $90 million in community-identified projects.

Funding for the recently completed upgrades came from proceeds of those municipal bonds, in addition to a temporary half-cent sales tax approved to assist with repayment. The Searcy Advertising and Tourism Promotion Commission also contributed financial support for the project.

Our team has been a key partner in Searcy’s long-range planning efforts, commissioned to prepare three concurrent studies for the City: Parks and Recreation, Active Transportation, and Infrastructure. These efforts were united under a single, holistic planning process titled #MySearcy, which engaged residents and stakeholders to help shape a cohesive, future-focused vision for the city.
